Children's Ministries

Children's Christian Education takes place Sundays from 9:15-10:15am

Christian Education Vision

Faith development is an exciting, lifelong journey. At St. Anne’s, we believe the dialogue between Scripture and the events of everyday life is at the heart of meaningful Christian education. The foundation and context for all learning is Christian community in which all participants are learners, including the leaders. Our hope is that through the learning process, members of St. Anne’s community discover meaning, which then feeds the journey toward living more faithful lives.

The children and youth formation committee believe that children and youth learning the story of Jesus’ life and work is central to their Christian formation. We hope to urge the children and youth to follow the example of Jesus through the curriculum, both content and method.

Workshop Rotation Model

Our Sunday school curriculum for kindergarten through fifth grade is designed using the Workshop Rotation model, a creative and effective way to approach curriculum. The model is based on children rotating to different workshops each Sunday. Each workshop utilizes a particular learning style for its approach to the lesson. A Bible story or concept is taught through the workshops over the course of generally four weeks. Children learn the Bible and God through a variety of different ways – art, cooking, drama, music and storytelling. The Children & Youth Formation Committee continually work on plans and curriculum that will make the Workshop Rotation program fun, enlightening, meaningful, creative and thrilling.

For two’s, three’s and Pre-K

This age group learns the same lessons taught in workshop rotation. Classes are scaled back to be age appropriate through coloring, singing, easy art projects, and/or reading Bible stories. Teachers generally teach one Sunday a month with these age groups.
