Kids4Peace Hosted by St. Anne’s for 6th year will present The Abraham Tent at St. Anne’s!

Again this July, 12 kids from Jerusalem - Jews, Christians and Muslims; Israelis and Palestinians - will come to Georgia to go to Camp Mikell with 12 kids from the Diocese of Atlanta. They will spend 5 days in Atlanta living at St. Anne’s visiting sites in the city including the Georgia Aquarium and The Martin Luther King Center, a local Synagogue and a Mosque. On Sunday, July 13th, the kids will be at the 10:00 service. Dr. Henry R. Carse, founder of Kids4Peace, will preach at both services. The service will be followed by a reception and the kids will present the Abraham Tent, a short presentation that they will write at camp telling about their three faith traditions. We hope everyone will stay for this fun event.

Can you help make the CommonCourtesy project a reality for Saint Anne's?
We are critically in need of "flexible volunteers" that can offer as little as a few hours a week either at Saint Anne's or from your home. We are looking for gifts of time and talent to initiate and build community support for this effort to provide personal transportation to the senior population in Atlanta allowing them a dignified mode of transportation as an alternative to driving. But, before the system can be even offered to our community seniors we will have to promote, educate and solicit a large flexible driver pool. If you can afford to offer your time, please call Bob or Anne Carr at 404-350-0055 to hear what parts of the project may be most convenient for you.

The next CommonCourtesy Information Sessions will be July 27 and August 3 immediately following the 10:00 am worship service.

Kanuga Parish Weekend

Each year at Kanuga, St. Anne’s enjoys a parish weekend filled with fun and fellowship for all ages. Whether you have been at St. Anne’s for years or have recently joined, you are invited to come with our parish family as we get to know each other better in a casual and relaxed atmosphere.

You decide how you would like to spend your weekend. There will be many choices and directions from which you can choose: adult fellowship, walking around the lake, playing Bingo, listening to music by the lake, prayer, children’s activities, adult art activity, golf, watching football, canoeing, fishing, Saturday morning speaker, and much, much more.

If you choose to participate in the Saturday morning speaker event, this year Bob Carr will be speaking on the topic of "Finding the Place for ME at St. Anne’s." Bob is actively involved in the church and community and is a certified instructor in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument. Bob will lead us through a journey in finding our individual gifts that we bring to the table through the Myers Briggs test. Bob’s gentle and faithful spirit, combined with his entrepreneurship, over thirty years of business experience, consulting expertise and community leadership give him the powerful tools to share his insights with YOU.

Come and discover where YOU fit within the St. Anne’s family. This is a time to get to know your fellow parishioners and spend time with your family. The weekend will be full of fun, relaxation and fellowship for people of all ages. You will NOT want to miss this!

Kanuga is an Episcopal Conference Center nestled in the lush Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. It is located 6 miles from Hendersonville, NC, which is a 3-hour trip from Atlanta.

Summer Drives
Ronald McDonald House serves as a home away from home for families of children who are in the hospital long-term. Each year hundreds of families are able to utilize this haven for little to no cost. As your family travels this summer please bring home the complimentary toiletries from your hotel. The EYC members will put together toiletry kits this fall to distribute when they visit Ronald McDonald House.  If you are not traveling but would like to participate, please donate travel-sized items. Donations may include: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, and razors and can be dropped off in boxes located in the Narthex and church office. Questions? Contact Laura Heinlein at 404.861.2564, Laura_Heinlein@Yahoo.com.

Teens!  We need your hand-me-downs!

Is mom making you clean out your closet this summer?! Great for us! Bag up your old, super cool clothes and bring them to St. Anne’s through July 15. The EYC will sort through them in the fall and donate all your old digs to The Partnership for Domestic Violence—a non-profit that provides shelter and aid to women, children, and teenagers who have survived domestic violence. For more information about this organization, or if you or someone you love needs help, please visit www.padv.org.
